The Boston Celtics were able to keep this series alive by winning Game 4 against the Miami Heat, 116-99.
The Heat struggled in the second half of this game which allowed the series to continue. Jayson Tatum rebounded with a strong shooting night from the floor in a matchup where he has struggled.
Coming into the second half of this game, Miami led 56-50. After that point, Boston outplayed the Heat and avoided the sweep. Kyle Lowry and Gabe Vincent both played through their injuries, which could have an impact on Miami's depth the longer this series goes.
Heat vs Celtics: 3 reasons Boston won
Jayson Tatum
For the first time in this series, Jayson Tatum finally showed up. He struggled a bit in the first half but flourished in the second half, scoring 20+ points in the final two quarters. The best way to describe Tatum in this game is that he was able to return to his All-NBA form.
Tatum finished the contest with 34 points on 63 percent shooting from the floor. Also, he had 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 blocks in this game. If the Celtics are able to get a performance from Tatum like this in Game 5, a trip back to Miami may be in order.
Grant Williams
It was temping to put Jaylen Brown in this spot but his poor three-point shooting made the decision easy. Grant Williams scored 14 points on 57 percent shooting from the floor. He made four threes in the game. Williams has been in and out of the rotation for awhile. The role player had his best game in quite some time, and rebounded nicely after being embarrassed by Jimmy Butler in Game 3.
The Celtics needed productive minutes and plus shooting from their role players in this game and Williams was able to provide that. Williams provided spacing that the Celtics desperately needed down the stretch.
Rough offensive fourth quarter for the Heat
Midway through the fourth quarter, Miami had ONLY four points in the frame. Miami had far too many turnovers in the fourth quarter of this game, which ultimately led to their downfall.
The Heat have lost quarters in this series but have still been able to recover. In this game, they couldn't respond and it led to their demise.
The Boston Celtics stayed alive. If Boston is able to win Game 5 at home, then things get really interesting heading back to Miami for Game 6.
Don't turn up the Heat on Miami just yet.
