The Las Vegas Aces and Connecticut Sun will face off for the second time in as many games on Thursday night at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Las Vegas took the first meeting between these teams on Tuesday night, 90-84, covering the spread as a 5.5-point favorite.
The win moved Kelsey Plum, A'ja Wilson and company to 7-0 on the season, while Connecticut dropped to 6-2 in the 2023 campaign. The Sun are still a solid team, but keeping up with the Aces is a whole different animal.
Las Vegas has a shocking +19.1 net rating on the season, and it's favored again on the road in this matchup.
Let's break down the odds and my best bet for what should be another great showdown between two of the league's best teams:
Aces vs. Sun odds, spread and total
Aces vs. Sun prediction and pick
Las Vegas has not shot the ball well lately, yet it has still come away with three straight wins in those poor shooting games.
The Aces shot 4-for-15 from 3-point range on Tuesday night, moving them to just 14-for-57 from beyond the arc in their last three games. If they see a slight uptick in that department on Thursday, the Sun could be in trouble.
Connecticut didn't get much from leading scorer DeWanna Bonner (2-for-9, five points), but guard Rebecca Allen (22 points off the bench) helped pick up the slack.
I think that evens itself out on Thursday night.
There's no doubt that the Aces have been the most dominant team in the league this season, and until they lose a game, I feel obligated to bet them to cover in these spots.
