Apex Legends players are calling on Respawn to buff Ash, saying that she's "underwhelming" in her current state.
Apex's latest season has seen some unsuspected changes to the pick rates of each Legend. Some previously underused characters have seen themselves hurtle up the pick rates, such as Crypto and Catalyst. For the most part, this has been an effect of Season 16's class changes.
But other Legends just haven't seen the same effect, staying mostly the same despite the season shake-up. Ash, for example, has found a cozy home right in the middle of the pick rates. Nothing too bad, but nothing too spectacular, either.
In fact, Apex players over on the dedicated subreddit have gone a step further, highlighting just how few changes the simulacrum has received since her Season 11 introduction.
Apex Legends Players Demand Buff for Ash in Season 16
A post by user Scarecrow222 titled "Ash has had zero changes since her release" was accompanied by an image of the Apex Legends Fandom page for Ash. It showed that, since her introduction on Nov. 2, 2021, Ash had received no updates or patches.
Commentors were quick to suggest suitable changes that would freshen up her kit: "I would like to see them increase her Ult range by maybe 25%. Also increase the speed of her tactical by 25%. Nothing major, but just enough to increase her skills without feeling overpowered."
Ash isn't a weak Legend by any means, but the lack of care in giving her some fresh updates has seen her fall out of favor with a lot of players. "The only thing she needs is a slight buff to her tactical. Makes no sense how she cant aim/shoot whilst using her tactical but others like Bangalore/Maggie/Revenant/Octane can," one user said.
But, despite the general consensus, Ash's pick rates have seemingly been on the rise. Since the start of Season 16, her pick rate has increased from 2.9% to 5.1%. While that's good news for Ash defenders, it could mean that Respawn refrains from making any changes.
The last thing they want is to upset the balance by making Ash unintentionally OP.
