Arsenal are monitoring Liverpool target Andre Trindade as a potential January signing, 90min understands.
Andre has been one of the standout players in South America during the 2023 season, with his dynamic performances in the middle of the park helping Fluminense reach just their second ever Copa Libertadores final.
This fine form has led to interest from Liverpool, with 90min reporting in August that the Reds had shortlisted the 22-year-old as a potential recruit. Ultimately a deal fell through due to the player's Copa Libertadores commitments, however Liverpool have continued to keep watch.
90min understands that Arsenal have also recently scouted Andre, with the Gunners also keen on landing a new midfielder during the January transfer window. Arsenal are keen to sign some reinforcements in that part of the pitch due to the squad dealing with a number of injuries recently - notably one suffered by Thomas Partey which saw the Ghanaian miss six games.
Andre is one of a number of midfielders the club's sporting director Edu has watched in Brazil recently, believing that his native country is an untapped resource of talent - having previously had success in the Brazilian market with the captures of Gabriel Martinelli and Marquinhos.
Along with Andre, sources have confirmed to 90min that Arsenal also scouted Corinthians' Gabriel Moscardo and Sao Paulo's Pablo Maia.
18-year-old Moscardo has also been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent months, and is a player that has caught the eye since becoming a regular at Corinthians earlier this season.
Maia is also a midfielder who has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs too, having been watched by Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, West Ham United, Nottingham Forest and Fulham in the past.
