Last night, Shohei Ohtani had two hits and drove in two runs for the Los Angeles Angels in their 6-4 win over the Houston Astros, and today he's going to be on the mound for the 19-16 Angels. That never ceases to amaze and neither does Ohtani's 4-0 record and 2.54 ERA across seven starts so far this season.

Today, the 17-18 Astros will counter with Framber Valdez who has a 2-4 record despite a stellar 2.60 ERA. It's not often that the Astros aren't at the top of the AL West and they currently sit in fourth and under .500.

Here are the odds for Game 2 of Astros Angels in Anaheim.

Astros vs. Angels prediction and pick

Valdez has been great for the Astros this season, he just hasn't gotten much help. He has allowed five unearned runs on the season with his defense letting him down, and in his four losses, he's gotten a combined seven runs of support. The Houston lefty won't be able to expect much run support today either with his lineup facing Ohtani.

Ohtani entered last start with a 1.85 ERA and a FIP of 3.44, so unsurprisingly he saw some regression, giving up four earned over five innings. Ohtani will return to his dominant self in this start. He is 90th percentile or better in expected wOBA, expected batting average, expected slugging, and exit velocity. The most insane part is that's the case for Ohtani the pitcher and the hitter.

The Angels could take another one from the defending champs because they are third in OPS against left-handed pitchers.

This will likely be a low-scoring game, but with that type of lineup against lefties and Ohtani's dominance on the mound, I see more value betting the Angels moneyline than taking the under. Though I do like both bets for this matchup.
