United States men's national team interim head coach B.J. Callaghan has selected his 24-man squad for their upcoming CONCACAF Nations League semifinal vs. Mexico.
There are many familiar names on the list, as well as a first-time call up for Folarin Balogun, who recently switched his international allegiance from England/Nigeria to the United States.
"In addition to having big-game experience and top-level talent, what’s great about this group overall is the familiarity and understanding that’s been built together these last four years about our style and our culture," Callaghan said in a release.
"We’re excited to integrate some of the newer faces as we set out to achieve our first goal of the summer in defending the Concacaf Nations League title."
The USMNT will look to lean on experienced players such as Walker Zimmerman, Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie as well as newcomer Balogun in hopes of successfully defending their Nations League title.
