Betting on props in Major League Baseball can have a lot of ups and downs, but I have three pitchers to target for Wednesday's action.

They may not be the flashiest of names, but I like them to hit these props, especially in the outs recorded department.

I'm coming off a rough day, so let's turn things around on Wednesday afternoon/night:

Best MLB prop bets today

Cristian Javier OVER 16.5 outs recorded (-130)

Houston Astros starter Cristian Javier has been great this season, posting a 2.90 ERA through 14 starts – leading the team to a 10-4 record over that stretch.

In 10 of those 14 outings, Javier has pitched into the sixth inning, clearing this prop in each of them.

The New York Mets have struggled on offense this season, and I trust Javier – who has allowed more than three earned runs in a game just twice this season – to keep them in check this afternoon.

Jhony Brito UNDER 4.5 strikeouts (-105)

Jhony Brito hasn't pitched for the New York Yankees since May 20th, posting a 5.58 ERA on the season and 7.12 ERA over his last eight appearances.

I don't see much changing against the Seattle Mariners, who could chase him early from this matchup.

Brito has picked up five or more punchouts in just three of his 10 outings this season, and even though he's facing the No. 29 team in strikeouts per game, I'm not sold on him working into this game long enough to clear this prop.

Garrett Whitlock OVER 15.5 outs recorded (-110)

Garrett Whitlock has put together back-to-back great starts for the Boston Red Sox, allowing just three earned runs across 13.1 innings of work.

A converted reliever, Whitlock is starting to show that he can pitch deep into games, and he gets batters to chase at a higher rate than most pitchers (96th percentile in chase rate) this season.

While he's only cleared this in three of his seven starts this season, he's facing the team that strikes out the most in all of MLB. I think that helps Whitlock work into the sixth inning on Wednesday.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
