The twists continue with the No. 2 pick, now one day away from the 2023 NBA Draft.
After the likes of ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski confidently said that the Charlotte Hornets are focused on selecting Alabama forward Brandon Miller with the No. 2 pick, the betting market responded overnight moving Miller to the overwhelming favorite to be the second choice despite some skepticism over the weekend.
Much of the questions around this selection have come around the fact that the Hornets used the No. 2 pick two years ago on LaMelo Ball, a point guard. Henderson projects to be a lead ball handler and if Charlotte is picking for fit, Miller is the easier player to slide into the rotation.
After securing the second pick at the draft lottery, Miller had become the odds on favorite to be the No. 2 pick, but over the weekend and as recently as Tuesday, Henderson had picked up steam as both players were brought back to Charlotte to workout again for the team and meet with outgoing owner Michael Jordan. However, it appears that Miller has solidified himself as the choice, per Wojnarowski.
This story is continuing to develop but as of this writing, Miller is -400 (80% implied probability) while Henderson is +200 at DraftKings Sportsbook:
