Pokémon GO has ended the year with the second part of the Winter Holiday event. With the cold winter season beginning many of the featured Pokemon during the event had holiday hats or were Ice-type Pokémon.
One Pokémon that got a special costume was Cubchoo. During the Winter Holiday Part 2 players can encounter Cubchoo wearing a holiday-themed ribbon more frequently in the wild. Seeing more Cubchoo in the wild, some trainers might ask if there is a chance to catch shiny Cubchoo.
Can Cubchoo be Shiny in Pokémon GO?
Cubchoo is an ice-type Pokémon that made its debut in the generation five games for the DS. In the mobile game both normal and the special holiday Cubchoo wearing a holiday-themed ribbon can be shiny Pokémon.
Unfortunately, there is no way to increase the spawn rate of shiny Pokémon. The best method to catch a shiny Cubchoo is to participate in events or pay attention when the specific Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in the wild. Players can use incense anytime before 8 p.m. local time on Dec. 31 to take advantage of the Winter Holiday event.
Cubchoo is also appearing in One-Star Raids and with all the opportunities to catch Cubchoo players will likely have a surplus of Cubchoo candies. With 50 Cubchoo candies trainers can evolve it into a Beartic. The Winter Holiday event also had a holiday-themed Beartic wearing a holiday ribbon.
Pokémon GO is set to begin the new year with another holiday event that will begin as soon as the Winter Holiday wraps up on New Year's Eve.
