Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is entering his age 30 season, and the urgency to win a Super Bowl title has only increased.

The goal every year for the Dallas Cowboys is simple — win the Super Bowl. While that is a goal that every team in the NFL has, this has become quite the hill for the Cowboys to climb. They last won the Super Bowl in the 1995 season. They have yet to make it to the big game since. To make matters worse, they have been unable to make it past the second round since.

Quarterback Dak Prescott was signed to a big-money contract, as the team felt he would help them hoist the Lombardi Trophy once again. Entering his age 30 season, Prescott says that the urgency to win has only increased.

"One thousand percent," Prescott told Nick Eatman of DallasCowboys.com. "Just understanding injuries and what I've been throughout my career and understanding that you don't have forever to play this game. I'm blessed for every moment that I get. Just trying to take it with a sense of urgency."

Dak Prescott is even more urgent to win Super Bowl entering age 30 season

Last season was an eventful one for the Cowboys and Prescott. The quarterback missed five games due to a broken thumb suffered in their season-opening game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cooper Rush filled in admirably in Prescott's absence, leading the team to four wins in the next five games. Prescott returned, and the Cowboys were able to clinch the top Wild Card spot in the NFC.

In 12 games played, Prescott threw for 2,860 yards, 23 touchdowns, and a league-high 15 interceptions while completing 66.2 percent of his passes.

While Prescott led the Cowboys to a playoff win by defeating the Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round, the team was unable to reach the NFC Championship Game. In the Divisional Round, the defense held its own against the San Francisco 49ers, but Dallas' offense fell silent. Prescott threw two interceptions while completing 23-of-37 pass attempts for 206 yards and a touchdown.

This offseason, the Cowboys made various changes to the offense. Those changes included firing offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, head coach Mike McCarthy taking on play-calling responsibilities, releasing running back Ezekiel Elliott, and trading for wide receiver Brandin Cooks from the Houston Texans. The hope is that these moves will help the offense thrive and be enough for them to make it past the second round of the playoffs.

Entering his age-30 campaign, Prescott has even more urgency to win the Super Bowl.
