In a recent update, Dead by Daylight has completely reworked the prestige system.
In Dead by Daylight, the prestige system brings the player's level back to level 1, in exchange, they receive higher chances for the bloodweb to spawn rarer nodes. The nodes are directly linked with the skills or perks you unlock and use as either the killer or the survivor.
Dead by Daylight Prestige Update
This new system is meant to tie directly to character progression and "reduce the grind significantly." When a player does decide to prestige, they will no longer lose the perks that they previously earned. Additionally, the first three prestige levels will earn the corresponding selected characters perks across the other killers and survivors.
For players who already have reached prestige three, they will receive a special reward. As of now, the reward is yet to be revealed, but it will be sure to show off the player's accomplishment.
For players who are yet to prestige at all, there will be a system to help them catch up. This system will look at the perks and perk tier of each character. Based on the number of perks and perk tiers the character has, they will receive an equivalent amount of prestige levels.
Lastly, for the Shrine of Secrets. According to Design Director, Matt S., "There won't be a teachable rarity associated with the shrine anymore," But instead, "You'll be able to buy your chosen perk tier directly from the Shrine, though the higher tiers will cost more,"
