DENVER — The Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies will start the final game of their three-game series in Denver in a weather delay.

After a hailstorm and downpour moved through downtown Denver around 3:30 p.m. (local time), the grounds crew was still working on restoring playing conditions at Coors Field when another round of storms moved into the area, pushing the game into a delay.

The original start time was 6:40 p.m. MDT.

At press time, there was not an update given about the start time, other than the game would not begin on time. With this being the final game of the series and both teams starting new series tomorrow (Colorado welcoming in the Detroit Tigers and the Dodgers heading to Kansas City to face the Royals), both teams are keeping an eye on the weather to ensure the series can conclude.

Denver and the surrounding area is under a tornado watch until 9:00 p.m. MDT.

Colorado and Los Angeles have split the first two games of the series, with the Dodgers taking a 5-0 win behind Clayton Kershaw's strong start on Tuesday before he left with an injury. Colorado, meanwhile, rebounded on Wednesday night with a 9-8 victory, shutting down a late Los Angeles rally to secure the win.

Emmet Sheehan is scheduled to continue his rookie season with the Dodgers by taking the mound on Wednesday while Chase Anderson will look to bounce back from a history-making outing against the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday as the visitors jumped to a 23-0 lead after four innings. Anderson gave up home runs on three consecutive pitches as part of 2.2-inning outing where he surrendered 10 hits and nine runs, all earned.

We are live inside the Coors Field press box and will provide the latest updates below when they are available.
