John seeks assistance from his neighborhood family clinic as his social life has become non-existent due to his condition

UPLAND, CALIFORNIA: 'Dr Pimple Popper' returns with episode 6 on Wednesday. The popular show has already dropped a sneak peek of patient John, who has a nose "the size of a plum." As his social life has taken a massive beating, he hopes Dr Sandra Lee will help him put an end to his misery.

In a 2020 episode of the hit TLC show 'Dr Pimple Popper', dermatologist Dr Lee treated a man who couldn't breathe due to potentially life-threatening nasal growths. Tony, a 55-year-old Clinton, Tennessee resident, had two grape-sized growths dangling from the tip of his nose. Dr Lee diagnosed Tony with rhinophyma, a form of noncancerous nasal growth that can be rough and red or purple, seconds after entering the examination room. Dr Lee used a scalpel to remove Tony's big nodules on the sides of his nose, taking care not to injure his real nose. Tony's nose was bloodied but grape-free when she was done.

Who is John on 'Dr Pimple Popper'?

Since it originally aired in 2014, the program has remained fascinating and educational for viewers. Throughout the years, Dr Lee has never been disappointed since no matter how long she's done her work, there's always a new challenge ahead at the office. On the May 10 episode of the show, viewers meet John, a lovely man whose life has come to a standstill due to a mystery skin ailment.

John appears in episode 6 of the current TLC season claiming to have a "nose the size of a plum." He first noticed a difference in his nose in 2000 and claims it has grown twice as wide and twice as long in the decades since.

"It feels kind of like scars and snakeskin, and it's rough," he adds about the growth's texture.

Unfortunately, John's nose has been hurting him mentally as well as physically. He suffers from depression and rarely leaves home. “To have this problem for 20 years is terrible, I’m trapped,” John admitted, calling himself a "hermit." The patient also stopped seeing his family and he does not attend Christmas or birthday parties anymore.

What happened to John on 'Dr Pimple Popper'?

In the episode 6 preview, John seeks assistance from a local family clinic. The doctor notes how sore the skin around the nose is after taking a closer look. John feels at ease discussing his despair with the doctor.

Dr Lee, whose show has been airing since 2018, has now put her fans to the test. "What do you think is going on with this man's nose?" she asked in the Instagram caption as TLC shared a sneak peek of John ahead of the latest 'Dr Pimple Popper' episode.

Her followers appear to have become specialists, as many reacted with "Rhinophyma." One person guessed "Rhinophyma/Rosacea."
