Issei isn’t some random student who is being given a chance to fight for the Leger inheritance just because he was his 'spiritual son'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Apple TV+ has apparently hit the jackpot for great content and we are in love with it completely. The newest show that we have been hooked to is 'Drops of God' and wait till we give you a phenomenal review on it. The show is about a wine connoisseur who has a massive legacy, but his untimely death becomes a chase game, when he drops his legacy for a toss and turns it into a competition between his own daughter and a man he calls his "spiritual son". As the show progresses, you understand that the show wasn't just about the competition but about many lies that hides beneath the surface.

The idea for the show is taken from a manga series of the same name. It is created and written by Tadashi Agi, a pseudonym taken by the creative team of sister and brother Yuko and Shin Kibayashi, with artwork by Shu Okimoto.

Alexandre and Marianne move to Japan

In the last episode, we saw flashbacks, where the entire episode was about Alexandre Leger's life in Japan and moving to a country far away to start a new life. And while Alexandre's partner and Camille Leger's mother Marianne Leger managed to set up her base, he struggled to fit into the rigid structure of the school where he was teaching about wine tasting. Things got even more complicated when Alexandre began an affair with Honoka Toomine, Issei Toomine's mother, with the real kicker coming in the form of Marianne and Honoka’s pregnancies. Episode 5 opened many doors for assumptions but left us with one detail that will prove to be beneficial ahead of the show.

Issei isn’t just Leger's 'spiritual son'

Issei's father leaves a note, asking the family not to come after him. The entire thing makes Issei go find out more about his parents. Let's remember that Issei doesn't know about his biological father, Alexandre, but Episode 5 makes it Issei's purpose to find out who it is. With the puzzle pieces coming together slowly, eventually, it becomes clear that Issei isn’t some random student who is being given a chance to fight for the Leger inheritance just because he was his 'spiritual son'. He is Alexandre and Honoka’s son and, therefore, Camille’s half-brother. So, now the story makes sense about why Alexandre would even mention Issei in his will. Many things will be revealed in the upcoming episodes, and we're here to soak it all in.

'Drops of God' now exclusively available to watch on Apple TV+.
