A Yankees cameraman caught a stray in Wednesday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. Thankfully, he seems to be okay; he just might need a short IL stint.

In Wednesday's game between the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles, a cameraman employed by YES Network got hit in the head by a throw from Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson.

The cameraman, Pete Stendel, was standing next to the Yankees dugout when he was struck by a high throw from Henderson in the fifth inning and went down immediately.

The crowd went silent, and the game was delayed for a short while medical staff tended to Stendel. Stendel ended up leaving Yankees Stadium on a stretcher and seemed to be conscious at the time; he even raised a peace sign to the crowd on his way out.

On Wednesday, the YES Network provided a relieving update on Stendel's health status, confirming that he was conscious and undergoing tests. It was later determined that Stendel suffered an orbital fracture and would presumably be out of work for an undisclosed amount of time.

Yankees cameraman suffers scary head injury against Orioles

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said of the incident:

"Definitely praying for him. It was good to see him obviously coherent and obviously raising his hand going off. But I saw it pretty well right away, and it was very scary… Obviously, a difficult scene there, and just hoping he's OK."

The Orioles ended up winning 6-3 with both sides visibly shaken up from the scary injury.

Henderson, an Orioles rookie, allowed Yankees' Anthony Volpe to reach second base when play resumed, and New York squeaked by to a 2-0 lead in the fifth. However, Baltimore would score four unanswered runs the following inning and hold onto the lead for the rest of the game.

The two sides face each other again on Thursday for the fourth and final game, and hopefully, no cameramen will be hurt in the conclusion of this series.
