Every month, Netflix adds lots of new content to its library of films and TV shows. But to make room for the fresh stuff, some of the shows and movies you'd always wanted to watch—and have had in your My List for months or years—suddenly disappear.
That's because Netflix doesn't own all the content it streams. The deals it has with networks, production companies, and movie studios mean much of that content comes and, unfortunately, goes with startling regularity. So each month, we keep you up to date with the newest list of what's leaving the service, for Netflix veterans as well as those who are just signing up now. We'll highlight our top choices for what you should view before it's too late; the full list is below.
Quirky 2018 documentary Bathtubs Over Broadway tackles a subject so weird, it must be seen to be believed. Industrial musicals—singing and dancing spectacles put on by corporations for employee morale—were a bizarrely popular thing in the 50s and 60s. Catch it before it's gone.
Frank Darabont's take on Stephen King's The Mist is a tight little horror movie. A small Maine town (of course) is beset by a mysterious fog that hides awful tentacled monsters hungry for human flesh. No spoilers, but the ending is an all-time downer legend.
Few movies had as high a pre-release-hype-to-disappointment ratio as World War Z. The Brad Pitt zombie vehicle was based on a massive-hit book and made plenty of money, but the prospective franchise never materialized. Lots of rewrites and reshoots will do that to you.
