Here is the latest on the rain delay causing Belgium's F1 Sprint Shootout to be pushed back.

Saturday's festivities in Belgium for the last stop on the Formula One circuit before the summer break is being held up by rain. The parade, quite literally, is being rained on.

Originally scheduled for 4:30 p.m. local time, the Sprint Shootout was pushed back by a half hour to 5:00 p.m. because of delays earlier in the day to Sprint Qualifying and codified standards on how soon after qualifying ended racing can begin.

Now, though, the race is held up due to more rain rather than a technicality.

What time is F1 Sprint Race starting on Saturday?

Last updated at 5:15 p.m. local race time.

The Sprint Shootout in Belgium is currently delayed due to rain after first being delayed due to a mandatory 4.5-hour gap between Sprint Qualifying and the Sprint Shootout itself. At this time, we do not know when the race will begin.

As of this writing, drivers are in cars waiting for the go-ahead to get going. Radio chatter indicated the rain was expected to stop around 5:20 and then start shortly after behind a safety car, though the FIA has not made an official announcement.

We will keep updated with the latest info.
