Guardain Shields were introduced with the new chapter as a defensive item for players. When deployed, the shield will block any incoming fire, and can be maintained as players move across the map. Now, damage to a Guardian Shield will drop micro chips.

To earn 20,000 XP, players only need to follow these simple instructions to complete this Oathbound quest:
- Find a Guardian Shield in a chest, either Oathbound or regular, from floor loot, or in a Supply Drop.
- Deploy the Guardian Shield.
- Shoot at the shield to inflict damage.
- Collect the micro chips as they fall from the shield to the ground.
Players can also earn the micro chips from shooting at an enemy player's Guardian Shield. Although it is safer to deploy your own shield in the safe location, as long as a player collects the fallen micro chips, the quest will be complete.
