Sean Hannity took to X to describe 'how bad' it was in 'blue cities' by bringing up Austin PD's understaffing issue

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X, to briefly speak about the Austin Police Department being short-staffed.

In his tweet, Hannity emphasized on how bad things were in “blue cities.”

After Hannity’s tweet, the internet pointed out just how bad things were in “red cities,” to refute the Fox News anchor's claims.

When Hannity shared a Fox News article to drive his point home, some claimed that Fox was not a “trustworthy source.”

Hannity tweeted, “How bad is it in blue cities? This bad...” He shared an article from his official website titled, “311, WHAT'S YOUR EMERGENCY? Short-Staffed Austin PD Asking Robbery Victims Not to Call 911.”

The article stated, “According to a Fox News report, the Austin Police Department is so short-staffed that they are asking residents not to call 911 if they get robbed at an ATM.”

Hannity called this “blue city chaos.”

In response to Hannity’s tweet, the internet did not seem too pleased with the anchor’s mention of “blue cities.”

One person wrote, “You should see Florida. Check out the crime stats for Daytona. Which was @RonDeSantis’s district before becoming governor.”

Another said, “LOL why don't you say how bad it is in Red cities after all 8 out of 10 of the highest crime per capita is in red cities, oh and you get owned by your own words in this clip.”

People continued to mention “red cities” in response to Hannity as one person said, “Not as bad as it is in the red cities.”

Users also slammed Fox News as one person wrote, "'According to Fox...' So, not a trustworthy source - and in fact just the opposite of trustworthy. There was one there who was trusted - but they fired him for it. If you want to be trusted, don't work for Fox!!!”

One user asked, “Who is the Governor of the state though??” as they hinted at Greg Abbott, the Governor of Texas, who is a member of the Republican party.

A user even labeled Hannity’s tweet as, “Fear-mongering.”
