The New York Giants will be without one of their best playmakers for the next three weeks. On Sunday, star running back Saquon Barkley went down with an ankle injury, with plenty of people thinking No. 26 would be out for a while.
However, ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Barkley suffered an 'ordinary' sprained ankle and he'll miss around three weeks for the Giants. This of course means that he'll miss the Thursday Night Football tilt with the 49ers later this week.
This is a big blow for the Giants offense and quarterback Daniel Jones. However, it feels like a win for head coach Brian Daboll that the Pro Bowler will only miss three games. After the date with SF, the Giants will take on the Seahawks, followed by a game with Miami.
If things go according to plan, then we could see Saquon back on the field for the Week 6 showdown with the Buffalo Bills. We'll see if that's the case or not.
