DETROIT General Motors Co said on Tuesday it will delay production of the electric pickup trucks at its Orion, Michigan, plant by a year to better align with "evolving EV demand."
The plant had originally been scheduled to begin production of the electric Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra in late 2024, but the company said the plan is now to start it in late 2025.
It said the change was being made "to better manage capital investment while aligning with evolving EV demand."
