Nintendo has just announced that the fan-favorite Goldeneye 007 will be coming to Nintendo Switch Online among various other beloved Nintendo 64 era games.
September's Nintendo Direct proved to be a memorable one as it gave fans a taste of what Nintendo has been cooking up since the last Nintendo Direct, including a release date and an official name for the Breathe of the Wild sequel, titled The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Long-time fans of Nintendo were also in for a pleasant surprise with the Nintendo Direct's addition of new Nintendo 64 games that would be coming to the console at a later date, including the first three Mario Party games along with Pokémon Stadium 1 & 2.
Most surprising of all was the inclusion of GoldenEye 007, the third best-selling Nintendo 64 game and one of the most influential games ever created. In an official statement made on the 007 website, it was revealed that an online multiplayer mode would be coming exclusively to the Switch, meaning players from around the world would be able to enjoy GoldenEye together.
While most of the Nintendo Switch Online additions are set to appear either towards the end of 2022 or sometime during 2023, no such confirmation exists for GoldenEye as of yet as the official statement reads that the game come "soon."
