Founder and head of Halo studio 343 Industries Bonnie Ross is set to leave the studio after 15 years.

Yesterday, Sept. 12, Ross announced via Twitter that she would be leaving 343 Industries to attend a family medical issue. The developer has been a long-time Microsoft employee, serving as a general manager Microsoft Game Studios (now Xbox Game Studios) in 2005 and later in charge of 343 Industries.

"I am incredibly proud of the work everyone at 343 Industries has done with Halo Infinite, the Master Chief Collection, the Halo television series and so much more," Ross said in a post. "It has been an honor to serve alongside the team for the last 15 years and to be a part of a universe that I love."

Ross' deep knowledge of the Halo franchise helped to create Halo 4, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and more under the banner of 343.

"Thank you to everyone in the Halo community for your support. Halo's future is bright. I cannot wait for you all to experience what we have in store — and to cheer alongside you, as a fan, at the Halo World Championship in October!"

The Halo World Championship 2022 will take place in Seattle, WA between Oct. 20 - 23.
