With Digimon Survive having launched just a few days ago, players might be wondering how to digivolve their Digimon.
Digimon Survive is the latest entry into the Digimon video game series, based on the virtual pet, and later, anime/manga franchise. Digimon Survive combines visual novel with tactical RPG elements where player choice can drastically effect the outcome of the game's narrative, and Digimon's evolution.
Given that Digimon Survive is a slightly different style game to the Digimon World or Digimon Story games, players might be wondering how digivolutions work this time around. Here's what you need to know.
How to Digivolve Digimon in Digimon Survive
There are two ways to digivolve in Digimon Survive, and it depends on the type of Digimon you're trying to evolve.
For partner Digimon, like Agumon, they can digivolve in the middle of battle, and de-digivolve when needed. Players will need a certain amount of SP to maintain the digivolved form.
Any other type of Digimon can only digivolve with the power of an Enlightenment Slab. These Slabs will permanently digivolve your Digimon, making them somewhat rare items to get hold of. Players can pick them up in certain Chests or after important moments in the game's story.
Once obtained, players will need to open the menu, head to Status, and choose which Digimon to evolve by heading to the Evolution tab.
Most Digimon have multiple paths which they can evolve into. Be sure to choose wisely as you can't undo the evolution once it happens.
