God of War Ragnarök will release on Nov. 9 — but will we see a Nintendo Switch release?
As one of this year's most anticipated titles, God of War Ragnarök is set to launch on Nov. 9. The game will continue the story of Kratos and Atreus from 2018's God of War, one of Sony's biggest AAA titles to grace the PlayStation 4. Plenty of players are eager to get their hands on pre-order copies of the game, and Sony has made a number of different variants available: Standard, Digital Deluxe, Collector's and Jotnar Editions.
But what these copies all have in common is that they've only been made available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. So, will we see a Switch version arrive sometime in the future?
Is God of War Ragnarök Coming to Switch?
Given that God of War Ragnarök is being developed by Santa Monica Studio, a first-party studio for Sony Interactive, it's highly unlikely that Nintendo Switch players will see the game make its way to their platform.
Many of Sony's biggest AAA titles, such as Horizon, Spider-Man and Uncharted, have never received Switch releases with Sony never expressing interest to bring them to their competitor's platform, either.
Many of their titles have been given PC releases in recent years, which is the closest any of these titles have been to a multiplatform release. These versions usually arrive well after the game's initial release, and is likely to be the case with God of War Ragnarök. That said, it's important to note that a PC port has yet to be announced by either Santa Monica Studio or Sony.
