Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant appeared to flash another gun in an Instagram video just months after he was suspended for the same activity.
On Saturday, a video surfaced of Grizzlies star Ja Morant in his friend's car blasting music and waving a gun around. Morant, who was seen holding a gun in a Denver nightclub in March, was suspended after a meeting with Adam Silver.
Morant was also investigated by Denver police, who ultimately did not press charges. The video which became public on Saturday shows a care-free Morant, seemingly flashing yet another gun at the camera.
Did Grizzlies star Ja Morant flash another gun in May video?
In a statement released by Morant in March, he took responsibility for his actions and vowed not to put himself in such a harmful position again.
"I take full responsibility for my actions last night," Morant said in a March statement. "I'm sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down. I'm going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being."
Yeah, about that.
Upon his meeting with Silver, the commissioner also came down hard on Morant, who has been apart of multiple violent off-court incidents. A previous report alleged Ja hit a teenage boy several times in the head in an act of self defense. Back in February, The Athletic reported an altercation between the Indiana Pacers and some of Morant's acquaintances.
"Ja's conduct was irresponsible, reckless and potentially very dangerous. It also has serious consequences given his enormous following and influence, particularly among young fans who look up to him," Silver said. "He has expressed sincere contrition and remorse for his behavior. Ja has also made it clear to me that he has learned from this incident and that he understands his obligations and responsibility to the Memphis Grizzlies and the broader NBA community extend well beyond his play on the court."
Assuming the gun seen in this video is, in fact, a real pistol, then Morant will have to answer for his lack of sincerity, and perhaps face more punishment from the league office.
