Aurelion Sol is receiving a rework in League of Legends Patch 13.3 changing how the Star Forger will operate on Summoner's Rift.
There are so many champions in League of Legends, which makes it near impossible to ensure that all of them are playable in the meta. If a champion is struggling to see play for a large period of time, then Riot Games usually reworks their abilities to make them more viable. Some examples from the past are Mordekaiser, Irelia and Udyr.
Here's a look at Aurelion Sol's new kit.
League of Legends Aurelion Sol Reworked Abilities
Cosmic Creator (Passive)
- Aurelion Sol's damaging abilities grant Stardust, permanently improving his abilities. Each ability's bonus is listed in its respective section.
Aurelion Sol's damaging abilities will grant him Stardust, which will improve his abilities permanently. This is similar to Syndra's recent rework, as her passive generates stacks that will eventually upgrade her other three abilities.
Breath of Light (Q)
- Channel toward the cursor for a few seconds, damaging the first enemy hit and splashing reduced damage on nearby enemies. Each time an enemy takes one cumulative second of channeling, Breath of Light deals an additional burst of damage. Bursts against champions grant Stardust.
- Breath of Light deals increased damage to champions and its range increases with Aurelion Sol's level.
- Stardust increases the burst's damage.
Much like a dragon, Aurelion Sol's new Q shows him breathing light on his foe that deals reduced damage to nearby enemies. The range of Breath of Light (Q) will increase based on Aurelion Sol's level. This ability does burst damage if used on an enemy for a full second, and these bursts grant Aurelion Sol Stardust. Gathering Stardust will empower this ability.
Astral Flight (W)
- Aurelion Sol flies over terrain toward the target location, but is revealed through Fog of War to nearby enemies while flying. Aurelion Sol can cast other abilities while flying. During this time, Breath of Light has no cooldown or maximum channel duration and deals increased damage.
- Astral Flight's remaining cooldown is reduced whenever an enemy champion Aurelion Sol recently damaged dies.
- Stardust increases Astral Flight's max range.
This ability looks similar to Aurelion Sol's previous Comet of Legend (E) ability, which let him fly across the terrain and cast his Q while flying. The developers kept nearly everything the same, as his Astral Flight (W) will also allow him to cast his Q while flying. Stardust will increase the max range of this ability.
Singularity (E)
- Summon a black hole for a few seconds, damaging enemies and slowly pulling them toward the center. Singularity grants Stardust per second for each enemy champion in the black hole.
- The center of the black hole executes enemies below a percentage of their maximum health, granting Stardust based on the type of enemy executed.
- Stardust increases Singularity's size (including the center zone) and execute threshold.
Aurelion Sol summons a black hole that slowly pulls them toward the center and does damage. If the enemies are pulled to the middle and are low enough, then they will be executed. These executions will grant Aurelion Sol more Stardust, which will increase the size of the black hole and heighten the execute threshold.
Falling Star/Skies Descend (R)
- Falling Star: Crash a star into the earth, dealing magic damage and stunning enemies hit. Falling Star grants Stardust for each enemy champion hit. Stardust increases Falling Star’s size. Gathering 75 Stardust transforms Aurelion Sol's next Falling Star into The Skies Descend.
- The Skies Descend: Drag a giant star down from the heavens, significantly increasing the size of the impact zone, increasing damage dealt, and knocking enemies up rather than stunning them. A massive shockwave spreads from the edge of the impact zone, damaging and slowing champions hit. Stardust increases the size of the impact zone.
The Falling Star (R) is the base form of his ultimate, which summons a star from the sky that deals damage and stuns enemies hit. Aurelion Sol gathers Stardust based on the number of enemy champions hit. The Stardust will increase the size of the star and collecting 75 Stardust will upgrade his next ultimate.
The Skies Descend (R) is the next ultimate casted after reaching 75 Stardust. This upgraded version will increase the impact zone and damage dealt to enemies. Importantly, the impact zone will knock enemies up instead of stunning them. Upon landing, there is a shockwave that spreads far across the map that will damage and slow enemies. Gathering Stardust will increase the impact zone of his ultimate.
