Cowboys star Micah Parsons knows what jersey he wore to a 76ers playoff game on Sunday, and he's standing by his decision.

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons showed up to this past weekend's Celtics-76ers playoff game in a Philly jersey, and naturally, the world went haywire.

Before the game, Parsons was spotted sporting the 76ers' No. 0 jersey, which is worn by Tyrese Maxey. Despite the longstanding rivalry between Dallas and the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East, Parsons felt comfortable with his clothing choices since Maxey was from Dallas, Texas, and the two are presumably close — close enough that Parsons repped Maxey's jersey to Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Cowboys pass-rusher cleared up the controversy on Twitter with that little bit of explanation, but Twitter users still found Parsons' 76ers outfit comical and ran away with the bit.

In Parsons' defense, he's done this before. Last year, Parsons attended the 2022 World Series at Citizens Bank Park and tweeted after Game 4 that he was happy that the Phillies beat the Astros.

That got Cowboys and Eagles fans alike riled up, too.

A quick dive on Google reveals that Parsons was actually born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and enjoyed a productive collegiate career at Penn State. The former Nittany Lion attempted to quash any doubts over his true allegiances with his explanatory tweet, though many are probably not wholly convinced.

The fact that Parsons was born in Philly, went to college in Philly, and is an avid fan of multiple Philly sports teams may be enough evidence to bury him. He's a Cowboys right now, but who says his heart doesn't want to play for Philly?

Parsons must have been ecstatic with the 76ers' nail-bitingly close victory over the Celtics to even the series, and who knows? Maybe he's secretly harboring some love for the City of Brotherly Love when it comes to the NFL.

We'll see in 2026 when his contract with the Cowboys is up.
