Mizuho Americas Open picks to win
Jin Young Ko +900
In my opinion, Jin Young Ko deserves to be the betting favorite in this spot, so I think there's great value on her in the No. 2 spot here at +900.
Liberty National is all about ball striking and that's exactly where she thrives. Entering this week, she ranks second in the LPGA in strokes gained: approach and second in greens in regulation. She's also first in scoring average.
Her putter has let her down at times, ranking 28th in strokes gained: putting, but she's so good from tee-to-green that she can overcome that deficit if her irons are locked in.
Ashleigh Buhai +3300
Much like Jin Young Ko, Ashleigh Buhai thrives with her irons, ranking sixth in strokes gained: approach. But, there's one other key to Liberty National, and that's that it boasts 98 sand bunkers on the course.
Buhai is fantastic out of sand, ranking 12th on the LPGA in sand save percentage.
She's also coming into the tournament in great form, finishing third at the Founders Cup two weeks ago. Now is a great time to bet on her, especially at 33/1.
Rose Zhang +4000
There's no way I'm going to miss a chance to bet on Rose Zhang in her professional debut. She enters her first event as a pro having won nine of her last 11 amateur tournaments, including the Pac-12 women's championship and the Augusta National women's amateur.
We'll see if that hot streak can translate to the pro level, but at 40/1 to win her first start as a professional, I'm willing to take a shot.
