The latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III trailer confirmed the return of infamous villain Makarov, but also the return of a fan-favorite Warzone map.
That's right, Verdansk was seemingly featured in multiple clips and the trailer has been making the rounds on social media. The trailer features narration from series icon Captain Price detailing what to expect in the upcoming campaign. Throughout the trailer, there are shots shown of Prison and Stadium from Verdansk.

MW3 Trailer Seemingly Confirms Verdansk Return, But Likely Not as a Warzone Map
The shots seem to show perhaps characters breaking Makarov out of the prison in Verdansk. As well, there's scenes of the inside of Stadium with people running through and screaming. So, while it remains to be seen if this means we're heading back to Verdansk in the campaign, or if it'll return as a Warzone map, there's promising signs of the map being featured in some aspect regardless.
A single player experience back in Verdansk is not what Warzone fans want. They want to drop back in to the popular map that defined Warzone as a titan in the genre. Hopefully this means in some aspect, developers are listening and Verdansk will return one day.
Is No Russian in Modern Warfare 3?
An interesting theory making the rounds from the Makarov trailer is that the scenes inside Stadium will actually be a retelling of the No Russian mission from the original Modern Warfare 2. The mission is one of the most controversial in the series' history showcasing Makarov and his men shooting up an airport full of civilians.
Perhaps the reimagining in MWIII, if Sledgehammer Games intends to include one, will take place in Stadium hence the Verdansk imaging.
Is Verdansk Coming Back to Warzone?
As of writing, there is no confirmation that Verdansk is coming back as a playable map in Warzone. The map is set to be featured in Warzone Mobile, but there is no announcement regarding the PC/console version.
