Mykhailo Mudryk reveals whether his lob of Arsenal's David Raya was intentional or not.

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has insisted his goal in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal was somewhat intentional.

Mudryk, who was expected to join Arsenal before his blockbuster switch to Stamford Bridge in January, lobbed David Raya with what appeared to be a cross shortly after half-time, immediately sparking a debate over whether he was actually trying to score.

According to Mudryk himself, his effort was somewhere between a cross and a shot.

"Before the game, our goalkeeper coach told me to look at their keeper because sometimes he is trying to read things and he can just lose the goal, so I can chip him," he told club media after the game.

"So it was something I knew and I kept it in my head. I went for something between the cross and the shot and it was a good decision."

The goal was Mudryk's first in the Premier League and continued what has been an impressive run of form from the Ukraine international, who has struggled in England since his expensive switch from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Nevertheless, Mudryk remains a popular figure among Chelsea supporters who have been impressed by his determination and resilience, and so his goal was particularly special.

"It was amazing to share this moment with our fans, and against Arsenal especially," Mudryk continued. "It was a special moment, I really appreciate their support a lot.

"It means a lot to me to score at Stamford Bridge, especially because I can share this moment with them. It’s special. I liked this moment and I want to have these moments more and more."
