Saturday started off with a bummer for Cardinals fans as the first game of the doubleheader, which continued from Friday night, ended in a 7-5 defeat to the Nationals.

The second game of the doubleheader was a chance to flip the script. However, weather once again had its say.

No. There has been no indication that the game between the Nationals and Cardinals is postponed.

UPDATE at 6:59 p.m. CT: The Cardinals intend to begin play at 7:20 p.m. CT.

At 6:20 p.m. CT, the Cardinals announced that the game would be delayed. However, they did not say when to expect a new start time.

Friday night's game had to be suspended in the third inning with the Cardinals leading 1-0 thanks to a Lars Nootbaar home run in the bottom of the first. After a 90-minute delay, it was decided the game would be completed on Saturday.

When play resumed, things didn't go the Cardinals' way. The Nationals tied things up almost immediately and went on to pile on three runs in the fifth to make it 4-1. A three-run home run from Brendan Donovan gave St. Louis new life and they showed resilience in the eighth inning as Joey Meneses' RBI double for Washington was immediately matched by a Willson Contreras home run in the bottom of the frame.

The game went to extra innings, where the Cardinals' luck ran out. With two runs in the top of the 10th, the Nationals grabbed hold of the 7-5 victory.
