The NFL has suspended New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara for his role in a fight outside a Las Vegas night club in February of 2022.

A three-game suspensions has been announced for Saints running back Alvin Kamara, which isn't all that surprising given the severity of the incident and the fact that it distracted from the Pro Bowl itself.

Kamara met with Roger Goodell earlier this week, and has previously said he expected to be suspended.

"Yesterday went and met with Roger," Kamara said. "It went well. I'm not going to get into the details of what we discussed in the meeting. It went well. I think we got accomplished what we needed to accomplish. Obviously happy I had a chance to do that, happy he gave me the opportunity to come up there because, obviously, that's not really protocol."

Alvin Kamara suspension: Who is the Saints backup running back?

Mark Ingram is no longer the backup in New Orleans, but the Saints did sign Jamaal Williams this offseason. Williams started for the Detroit Lions last year, and was a primary reason why that team nearly made the playoffs in a crowded NFC North.

Williams felt downright disrespected by Detroit's offer this offseason, and thus took his talents to the Bayou, signing a three-year, $12 million contract. Now, Williams is projected to receive the majority of the carries with Kamara out the first three games.

Rookie running back Kendre Miller is also expected to have an increased role on offense with Kamara out. Miller commented on the tough learning curve from college to the NFL to Saints.com.

"Coming, just throwing me into the fire, coming straight into training camp was definitely difficult," Miller said. "First of all getting used to the heat and the workload conditions, because I've been out for a minute. But coming every day with a positive attitude, and learning from the vets – (running backs Alvin Kamara) A.K. and Jamaal (Williams) – has kind of been the biggest thing. But every day is just stacking days for me."

Now, that learning curve has a little added pressure.
