Blizzard is celebrating Thanksgiving and the Steam Autumn Sale starting by allowing PC gamers to play Diablo IV for free until Nov. 28.

The online-only action RPG was launched back in June and quickly became the fastest-selling game Blizzard has ever released, reaching 12 million players by August. Now Blizzard is attempting to boost the player base even higher with six days of free play time.

If you partake and enjoy the game, all three versions are available to purchase on Steam at a 40% discount. The base game is available for $41.99 (reg. $69.99), the Digital Deluxe Edition is $53.99 (reg. $89.99), and the Ultimate Edition is $59.99 (reg. $99.99).

Keep in mind that you do require a Battle.net account to play the game, which is free to setup, but also means you always need to be connected to the internet for the game to run. That requirement of always being online to play is part of the reason why the game is only rated as "Mixed" on Steam.

Diablo IV is a beautiful game with a satisfying gameplay loop, but the action can stutter on a midrange PC and it really requires investing in a Battle Pass to get the most out of the experience. If you game on a midrange PC, this is your chance to see how well (or badly) the game plays before spending any cash on it (or deciding to invest in a new gaming rig).
