The Little Cup in Pokémon GO requires the Pokémon that players plan to use be 500 CP or lower, and here are some recommendations on who to bring and who to leave out of the tournament.

The Little Cup has returned to Pokémon GO, beginning yesterday, to give players a chance to climb the ranks with their cute baby Pokémon.

The requirement to register a Pokémon in this tournament is that it has a CP level of 500 or lower. This requirement will typically only require baby Pokémon (Pokémon who are in their first-stage of their evolutionary line), thus the name "little cup" is born.

We've compiled some Pokémon that can be enlisted in the tournament and provided a rough ranking, to give players an idea of whether to bring these Pokémon or not.

Pokemon GO Little Cup Tier List 2023

Each of the tier lists will be accompanies by a small description explaining why some Pokémon placed in certain tiers, as well as a general guide for choosing a Pokémon to occupy a specific role.

Little Cup Leads Tier List

The lead Pokémon should be a Pokémon that can deal a lot of damage very quickly, with versatile moves that can assist it in dealing with a variety of opponents. Pokémon like Bronzor and Jangmo-o rank highly in this category because they are able to do just that; they have a diverse enough movepool that can be very useful for dealing with any Pokémon.

Little Cup Switches Tier List

Switches should be a bit more hearty, while still being able to do a bit more chip damage. These Pokémon, like Ducklett, are able to take some hits while also dishing some serious damage, while Pokémon like Nidoran (Male) may have more trouble accomplishing this task due to their weaknesses of Psychic-types.

Little Cup Closers Tier List

Closers will be the Pokémon you save for the ending battles. They'll be able to do a lot of damage and finish off those Pokémon that could pose problems. Bronzor and Wynaut take the higher tiers on this list due to their ability to be able to handle a lot of damage while also doing a lot of it as well, with moves that can take care of a lot of different Pokémon.

The Little Cup began March 29 and will run until Apr. 5.
