As is typical with Pokémon GO, when new Pokémon are released, bringing the total up requires more space for items to adequately take care of these new Pokémon.
Niantic has had a history of increasing the inventory limit for trainers with every couple of passing months in order to make sure players are able to continuously entertain the idea of catching more Pokémon and having more items for the catching process, as well as discovering more items to strengthen those same Pokémon.
Extra inventory space gives room for extra Poké Balls, Berries, and more. So what can players expect in terms of new inventory space?
Pokémon GO Storage Limit March 2023
As of this month, the storage limit within Pokémon GO is 6,250 slots, and the item bag limit is 5,250. These are both 50 slot increases from their previous numbers.
These numbers have come a long way from the original 1,000 it was before June 22 of 2017. As mentioned before, it seems that these numbers will tend to scale with the amount of new Pokémon added, so that players can make sure they are prepared to catch more and more Pokémon.
Both Item Bag and Pokémon Storage upgrades cost 200 PokéCoins, and will increase the specific feature they promise to upgrade by 50 slots.
