The Pokémon Company revealed Grafaiai as the latest addition to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Set to launch Nov. 18, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has, so far, introduced 13 new Pokémon.
Grafaiai was first leaked a couple days ago when the Pokémon Company shared images of the artistic trail left by Toxic Monkey Pokémon to Twitter.
We are finally able to piece the clues all together with the video posted from Nintendo on Saturday, Sept. 3.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Grafaiai Explained
Located in a forest in the Paldean region, Grafaiai was made to resemble a graffiti artist. The monkey sports a hooded look, tuft of hair and black and white striped hind legs. To complete the look, its long skinny fingers appear to have paint dripping from them.
Grafaiai is a Poison/Normal type that "uses its poisonous saliva" to attack its foes. Its paint allures its bug-typed enemies with a sweet smell and paralyzes them when touched. Grafaiai is expected to have the Unburden or Poison Touch Ability which, accordingly, either doubles the speed stat when its held item is used or poisons an opponent when it makes contact
The evolutions of Grafaiai has not yet been revealed, but it has a unique feature that allows it to change color depending on what it eats. Its prescene is indicated by Bug Pokémon who roam in its vicinity
