The Cheez-It Bowl will no longer be a fixture at the end of the college football season, as Pop-Tarts will be taking over as the official sponsor.

The most anticipated portion of the college football campaign is bowl game season. This presents programs with the opportunity to end their seasons with a bowl game championship.

As has been the case for many years, some bowl games have sponsorship deals. Perhaps one of the more fitting bowl game names was the Cheez-It Bowl. Come on, it was a trophy with a bowl of Cheez-Its at the top! Fitting!

Sadly, the Cheez-It Bowl is no more. However, they will be replaced by another food product.

It was revealed that the Pop-Tarts Bowl will replace the Cheez-It Bowl in a deal with Florida Citrus Sports. The inaugural bowl game will take place on Thursday, Dec. 28 at 5:45 p.m. ET, live from Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla. The game will feature one of the top teams in the ACC taking on one of the top teams in the Big 12.

Cheez-It Bowl gets replaced by Pop-Tarts Bowl

"Since turning toast and jam into an ingenious toaster pastry almost 60 years ago, Pop-Tarts has always been about making the world more fun, more unexpected and more delicious for fans of all kinds," said Heidi Ray, Senior Director of Marketing, Pop-Tarts, via the official press release. "We're ecstatic to be the new title sponsor of the Pop-Tarts Bowl with our partners at Florida Citrus Sports and cannot wait to host Crazy Good experiences for fans and players alike in Orlando, and for those joining us from home."

The Cheez-It Bowl came into existence in 2020 when it took over naming rights over Camping World. Below are the results of their three games and who brought home the Cheez-It Bowl trophy:

While you may want to pour one out for the Cheez-It, they aren't going away, as they will sponsor the Citrus Bowl, which they took over this year.

With Pop-Tarts taking over, we must know, what will the trophy look like. Will it be a giant golden Pop-Tart? Will it be a bowl of Pop-Tart Bites? We must know!
