Today's Premier League news includes Neymar being linked with Manchester City, Mason Mount might join Manchester United and Graham Potter could be the next Crystal Palace boss.
Premier League news: Neymar to Manchester City
Neymar's future at Paris Saint-Germain is in doubt. Lionel Messi will leave the club at the end of the season as the Parisians look to build their team around Kylian Mbappe.
According to L'Equipe, "Neymar received a call from Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who came to sound out the player's state of mind. But, according to our information, at the moment there is very little chance of the Brazilian signing with the English champions.
"Neymar, who opened the door to a departure this summer, is being courted across the Channel. Several Premier League clubs (Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle) have expressed interest in attracting the 31-year-old Brazilian star."
It would certainly be exciting to see Neymar link up with Erling Haaland at the Etihad. However, it would also be a spectacular move if he is to join their rivals Manchester United. He could be part of Mauricio Pochettino's rebuild at Chelsea but the Blues cannot offer European soccer right now.
Newcastle are a side that has the financial backing to sign Neymar. With Eddie Howe's side qualifying for the Champions League next season, they will be expected to make big signings. Neymar would be a marquee signing and it would be a bit like when City announced themselves to the World stage when Robinho joined them in 2008.
Premier League news: Mason Mount to Manchester United
Mason Mount has just one year left on his Chelsea contract and it has been widely speculated that he will leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Daily Telegraph has reported that "Erik ten Hag is confident he can persuade Mason Mount to join Manchester United as part of a summer overhaul being demanded by the manager."
Ten Hag has done a very good job at Old Trafford this year. He has guided them into the Champions League, won the EFL Cup and could claim another trophy as his side faces Manchester City in the FA Cup final this weekend.
The Dutchman needs to be backed if he is to take the Red Devils even further. Signing Mount from a rival club will be a big statement from United.
Premier League news: Graham Potter to Crystal Palace
Graham Potter may be a former Brighton manager. However, he has been linked to the Seagulls' biggest rivals. According to Foot Mercato, "Crystal Palace wants to appoint Graham Potter."
The South Coast side has moved on with Roberto De Zerbi who qualified them for European soccer for the first time. Although, it would still not be a popular move with Brighton fans if Potter is in the dugout at Selhurst Park next season.
Potter has also been linked with taking over at Nice in France. After an unsuccessful short stint with Chelsea, a move abroad might be wise to get away from the British press.
