Apex Legends' has some issues when it comes to Iron Sights because new cosmetic skins are giving advantages to certain weapons. Iron Sights is the term used for weapons without optics meaning players are aiming down the barrel of the weapon. This can be difficult to use or tough to aim at opponents.
Players have been complaining about certain cosmetics calling them pay-to-win like two different VK-47 Flatline rifle skins. One of them is Heat Sink and Revelations.
But it's not all about the positives. When it comes to the Revelations skin, the fins toward the top of the weapon actually create blindspots and make it more difficult to see. All game developers try to balance the look of a weapon compared to its use in battle, If a skin makes it easier or harder to use the weapon then it's lacking its base purpose.
Respawn will probably use this opportunity to make sure all the weapons are like this with no advantage. Here are Respawn's thoughts on the matter.
"We believe that any competitive edge in Apex Legends should be gained by honing your skills and not due to any perceived advantages from buying gun skins. As our good friend Kuben Blisk puts it: "You kill me, you're better. I kill you, I'm better." We hope players who own these skins will appreciate these improvements and support us as we work to keep Apex Legends fun and fair."
