Rockstar have posted a 'Thank You' page for its GTA 5 teams, ahead of the game's nine-year anniversary.
The studio appears to be saying goodbye to Grand Theft Auto 5 & GTA Online after its nine-year run. Rockstar posted a message online thanking "everyone who has contributed to these games", followed by the full list of credits. The full message reads, "Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online represent the combined efforts of our global team over many years.
"We want to acknowledge and thank everyone who has contributed to these games, from their original launch in 2013 all the way through to present day."
By posting the credits, typically played at the end of a game, fans have speculated that this could be Rockstar's way of finally closing the book on GTA V and directing their attention towards the long-awaited GTA 6.
The official anniversary of GTA V falls on Sept. 17, so the timing feels right. Rockstar, however, have not confirmed what this 'Thank You' page means for the future of GTA V and GTA Online, but in the minds of many it's time to move on.
The upcoming GTA 6 has reportedly been in development for quite some time, and has been subject to plenty of leaks so far. The game is assumed to feature the series' first female protagonist, but Rockstar have yet to confirm anything.
