Rocksteady Studios' founders, Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker, will be leaving the studio at the end of 2022. Rocksteady Studios, known for its Arkham series and an upcoming Suicide Squad game, was originally founded by Hill and Walker in 2004.

Hill and Walker's departure was announced in a letter by Warner Bros. Games' president David Haddad on Monday. "With Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League nearly finished, they have both decided to leave Rocksteady at the end of 2022 and will begin a new adventure in gaming," Haddad wrote, later stating that Rocksteady's Director of Production, Nathan Burlow, will step up to the role of Studio Director, with Darius Sadeghian taking the role of Studio Product Director.

Burlow, who is credited as an "original founding member of the studio," added in the same announcement that he hopes to eventually build on the successes of both Suicide Squad and future Rocksteady games alike.

While the departure is sudden, the development of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League seemingly remains unaffected. Hill, who was the game's Creative Director, said in a joint statement with Walker that the game was "in good hands." Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to release in 2023 after it was notably delayed at the beginning of 2022.
