Interim Tottenham manager Ryan Mason has insisted that the club can still attract big managers, despite their ongoing struggles to secure their top targets.
The summer of 2021 saw Tottenham knocked back by a number of candidates before the ill-fated appoinment of Nuno Espirito Santo, who lasted just a few months before being replaced by a man who had already turned down the job, Antonio Conte.
Conte left the club in March of this year, with control given to his assistant Cristian Stellini, but he would last just one month before Mason was promoted to interim manager while Spurs searched for a permanent successor.
Spurs were knocked back by former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann, who favoured talks with Chelsea before pulling out of that race. He has since been ruled out of the running for the Tottenham job as well.
Most recently, Feyenoord's Arne Slot opted to extend his contract with the Dutch side after a failed approach from Tottenham, leaving them forced to continue their search.

Mason, who has voiced his desire to take the job permanently, argued that Spurs are still big enough to lure the biggest managers in, despite the recent setbacks and public dismissals from a number of targets.
"Maybe these people you mention - I don’t know who, because I’ve not been looking at the press - are not exactly moving themselves away from it," he said. "They know it’s a big club.
"They know if Tottenham and their name is being linked, it’s a massive positive for them.
"It’s a big club. We know it is. Every manager, every coach knows this is a big club. Players do, fans do. You can feel it when you’re in our stadium. This will stay a big club, and it’s going to be attractive for whoever is in charge next season. I am sure players, as well, will want to come here."
