If you want to find out if Slack is experiencing issues you’ll have to look somewhere other than Twitter.

Slack announced this week that it is shutting down its SlackStatus account on Twitter/X in favor of posting status updates exclusively on its website.

In an emailed statement to Gizmodo, the company’s VP of customer experience Kevin Albers said the decision was made “in order to consolidate our communications around incidents and focus resources on those most widely used by our customers.”

Apparently those services no longer include Twitter.

Slack isn’t the first company to pull its customer service account off the platform. Earlier this year both American Express and Air France, for instance, opted to leave the platform.

Slack’s Status account had around 30,000 followers.

While its customer service arm is leaving Twitter, Slack says that it will continue to share Slack-related news as well as provide support through its main account, @SlackHQ.
