The New York Yankees were livid with the umpiring crew after they missed Los Angeles Dodgers rookie James Outman swinging and missing on a pitch.

Here we are yet again, with another edition of "The Ump Show." It seems like a near-daily occurrence where we have to point out some missed calls by the umpiring crew in respective games.

Well, there was one horrendous call in Sunday night's game between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Yankees starting pitcher Domingo German faced Dodgers rookie James Outman with one out on the board. On a 3-2 count, Outman looked to have checked his swing. Home plate umpire Rob Blakney deferred to third base umpire John Tumpane, who determined that Outman checked his swing, and let him walk to first base.

The Yankees dugout erupted with anger, especially manager Aaron Boone, who has already gotten ejected four times this season. When the ESPN camera crew cut to Boone, you could read his lips, and there were plenty of swear words uttered.

Then, the replay was shown, and you could see how badly both Blakney and Tumpane missed this call.

Umpiring crew makes a horrendous call in Yankees vs. Dodgers game

This would have been an even worse call if it led to runs scored by the Dodgers. Luckily for the Yankees, that wasn't the case. German got outfielder Mookie Betts and first baseman Freddie Freeman to strike out swinging to end the inning. Outman had stolen second during Freeman's at-bat.

The Yankees went on to win the game 4-1 after RBI groundouts by Kyle Higashioka and Oswaldo Cabrera, and a two-run homer by Anthony Volpe.

Again, luckily for Yankees fans, that missed swing call was non-consequential and didn't contribute to a loss. But still, fans are not going to be happy about an umpiring crew making a call like this.
