Warzone 2's Resurgence map might be coming as soon as February with Season 2, according to Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson.
Resurgence is a fan-favorite Call of Duty battle royale mode giving squads the chance to respawn a limited number of times throughout a game. As well, Resurgence is traditionally played out on a smaller map like Rebirth Island or Fortune's Keep. It kept gameplay fresh, hectic and fast as a nice change of pace from larger maps like Caldera.
Warzone 2 is still in the early days of its lifespan, but it seems Resurgence is coming sooner rather than later giving players an option other than Al Mazrah.
Warzone 2 Resurgence Map Rumor Hints at Season 2 Release
Tom Henderson has flagged that this might just be a rumor, but there are details that led to Insider Gaming's original report. According to Henderson's report, two sources have told Insider Gaming that the Resurgence map is coming in Season 2. Though, Insider Gaming has a three-source rule that prevents the publication from definitively stating as such.
It would be quite early to add a Resurgence map to Warzone 2. Though, perhaps Activision is aware of how popular Fortune's Keep was toward the end of the original Warzone's life cycle. They might want to capitalize on 2023 early by releasing a fast-paced mode. Plus, Al Mazrah is a big map and Warzone 2 games feel long at times. This could be the change of pace fans have been wanting.
Warzone 2 Season 2 doesn't have a set release date, but it is expected to begin in February.
